Welcome to Tim's music services - About Aidan (the new guy)
Welcome!
.....Aidan's the guy on the Right
Well my introduction into music started with the keyboard around the age of 8. A couple of years later I took to the guitar because it was the coolest instrument to be seen playing and I haven’t looked back since. Over the years I have tried various instruments including Bass and Drums, but my heart and passion still lies with the guitar. Starting off as being self taught, there was only so far that I could progress, so eventually I sought tuition from one of Basingstokes best rock guitarists Ray Brown. Later I was tutored by another well accomplished player Keith Herman, who introduced me to the world of alternative playing styles along with musical scales and theory. My guitar heroes include Slash (obviously), Jeff Healey, Vai, Satch and of course Clapton. I joined my first band at the age of 15. Made up of a bunch of mates from school we played all styles from Clapton and Zeplin to Oasis and Metallica. I later joined a 4 piece Southampton band called A.M.N. We gigged the Southampton area for a couple of years playing everything from Roxette to Linkin Park and we had a blast doing it. I was fortunate enough to work at Modern Music in Basingstoke for nearly 5 years. In this time I developed a broad knowledge of most things musical and this was not limited to just the rock and roll stuff either. The only problem with working there was the temptation. It was like sticking a kid in a sweet shop. Over the years I have owned a number of instruments including a Gibson Les Paul Smartwood, a Fender Fat Strat, an Epiphone Les Paul Std, an Epiphone ES-335, an LTD MH-401QT, an Aria Mac 50, a Simon and Patrick SP-6, a BC Rich FE-50, a Camps Preludio, a Marshall VT-100 head with 4x12 Cab, a Fender Twin ( possibly the heaviest bloody amp in the world) and a Zoom GFX-8, most of which are still in my collection today. I have picked up a lot of experience over the years that have made me more than capable of undertaking guitar repairs and set ups. It is something I thoroughly enjoy doing whether it is a simple set up and service or a complete overhaul. I later went to the Reading store as Assistant Manager under the new owners, Dawsons. Since then I have left the music industry all together to pursue a career in the car industry (another passion of mine) as a Salesman. This has opened up a whole new world of experiences to me including the opportunity of living in Australia for nearly 2 years. I am now back and itching to get back into music. Not just as a hobby but as a career - hence the reason for starting this little venture with Tiny Tim, a friend of mine for more than 20 years. With our combined experience and contacts, we have the ability to cater for all your musical needs, no matter how big or small. We believe in good service, honesty and value for money. So if you need it, we will get it.E-mail: aidan@timsmusic.co.uk
